Week 10:
Elizabeth Huninghake:
In her 1st year with SAVCC - Elizabeth has shown some great work ethic and excitement for the sport!  Being a great addition to the team, Elizabeth is looking for a PR at her 1st region meet on Wednesday at Les Bolsted Golf Course.  GREAT WORK ELIZABETH!!
Song of the Week Pick: Kids by MGMT

Kevin Lundorff:  Kevin is in his 5th year in SAVCC and has been a PR machine the past couple of weeks.  In our last meet at the Tri-Metro Championships, Kevin again set a PR, but was not satisfied and is more determined than ever to meet his goal at the Region 4AA championships - the team has no doubt that he can do it!! Kevin is also the reigning 3-time team cannonball champion - a record that will not be broken anytime soon!  AWESOME JOB LUNDORFF!!

Chris Lawson: 
Chris, a senior co-captain, set the school 5k record in Mankato last week with a time of 15:56.  Pretty good reason for RoW!!! AWESOME WORK CHRIS!!

Hannah Smith:  Hannah is a newbie to the SAVCC team, and she has definitely made her mark on the team.  Hannah and been improving steadily all year and has worked her way up to the 8th spot on the girls team.  GREAT WORK HANNAH!!!

Week 8:
Melissa Marsh:
Melissa has earned RoW honors from the captains for the effort, toughness, and enthusiasm she shows on a regular basis.  Despite some injuries the past couple of years, Melissa's work ethic & positive attitude have not changed - she continues to pump out positivity & hard work.  GREAT JOB HARSH MARSH!!!

Palmer Sola:  Palmer is in his 1st year of CC and has shown an iron determination to get better & better.  "P-Funk" has improved leaps and bounds this season, and is a prime example of the how much better you can get if you are motivated to do so.  GREAT JOB P-FUNK!!!!

Week 7:
Stephen Risk (Co-RoW):
Mr. Risk is a senior on the SAVCC team and recently has found himself cutting off quite a bit of time on his races - he PR'ed at the Swain Invitational in Duluth.   Stephen is known for his tardiness - but when he gets to practice he works his tail off and is great to have around.  GREAT WORK STEPHEN!!

Coach Victorine (Co-Row): Coach Vic was named Co-Row this past week for his awesome performance at the Twin Cities Marathon - Vic finished his first marathon and also met his goal time in the process.  While working the mile 15 water station - it was great for all the SAVCC kiddos to see him accomplishing his goal.  AWESOME WORK VIC!!!

Greta Henry: Greta is in her first full year of CC and she has proven to be enthusiastic, hardworking, motivated to improve, and fun!  Greta recently just ran the Swain Invitational and had a good time for her 4K - and she is looking to improve on that and get her PR in our last few weeks here.  WAY TO GO GRETA!!

Week 6:
Sara Henry:
Sara has been a great addition to the SAVCC team this year.  Not only does Sara come in and continue to be one of the hardest workers on the team, she also is one of the most enthusiastic runners we have out. That enthusiasm is something that has been contagious - and that is great!  AWESOME JOB SARA!!
Song of the Week Pick: For the First Time - by the Script

Marty O'Connell:  Marty is only a 9th grader, but he is a seasoned veteran of the SAVCC team - and it shows!  Marty has recently started to get some of his PRs this season and earned a spot to his first Roy Griak Invitational, where he helped the team to a 7th place finish.  GREAT JOB MARTIN!!

 Week 5:

Ali Abdi: Ali is in his first year of CC and he has shown great enthusiasm throughout the season so far.  Ali has become a much stronger runner in a very short amount of time, consistantly pushing himself in practice.  Between his first race and our most recent meet at St. Olaf, Alie shaved off over 5 minutes!!  GREAT WORK ALI!!

Emily Gustafson:  Emily is in her 2nd year of CC and has been a PR machine!  Emily was dedicated in her summer running this year and it is showing!! In her senior year, Emily just set another PR at the St. Olaf High School Showcase and has been a great leader for our younger runners all season.  NICE WORK EM!!

Week 4:
Mary Picard: Mary busted her butt this summer putting on more miles than
she ever has before - and it shows!!  In the Fridley Peach Run, Mary was a big part of the team's victory as she improved by over 25 seconds!  WHOHOOO MARY!!

 Jesse Lindahl:  Jesse, like our other RoW Mary, really put forth a solid
effort this summer and put some good miles in.  Jesse's times definately show - in the Fridley Peach Run Jesse improved by over 1:30!!  Pretty good!!  Jesse is quietly turning into a very good runner, and it's great to see!  GREAT JOB JESSE!!

Week 3:
Cole Richmond - Cole is a rookie to the CC team, and in his first meet at the Conference Jamboree, Cole took 2nd overall in the MS race.  Cole has also been working hard and showing some great determination at
practices and gearing towards a good season - GREAT JOB COLE!!!!!

Claire Bedore - Claire went out and led the MS girls team to a victory with a 1st place individual finish at the Conference Jamboree race at Battle Creek.  Claire has showed a fun and hard working nature that is a perfect fit with the CC team so far this year.  AWESOME WORK CLAIRE!!!

Week 2:
Riley McGinnity: Only a 7th grader, Riley started her CC career with a bang!  In her very first race at Powderhorn Park, Riley won the JV girls race with a time of 10:11 for 1.5 miles.  This great start is no doubt due to her hard work in the spring and summer in MS track & Captains' practices.  GREAT JOB RILEY!!

Nicholas Gulachek: Nicholas, who has been in CC since the 7th grade ran his first ever varsity race last Saturday at Powderhorn Park, and not only did he get to run, he finished 5th on the team, not too shabby for a freshman!!  Nicholas is also a big fan of Updawg. AWESOME WORK NICHOLAS!!

Week 1:
Phillip Horsager:
Phillip is the longest tenured CC runner in the whole SAVCC program (6th year!).  He brings his postitive attitude, work ethic, and Ole & Lena jokes to practice every day!  Phillip has started the year out strong and the team will be looking towards
his leadership all season!!  NICE WORK PHILLIP!!!

Natalie Krosschell:
Natalie is in her first year of CC, and so far she has done great!!  Natalie has already earned a varsity uniform from her work in practice and from the Falumni Run. WAY TO GO NATALIE!!

The Runners of the Week are picked by the captains to recognize great performances either in meets, practices, work ethic, or attitude.  Each Runner of the Week recieves a traveling trophy and gives their pick for the Song of the Week.  The Song of the Week is used to PUMP us up and hopefully relates to what we are going through as a team.  Each song title is linked to the YouTube video of the song.
